NEWTON HALL LANE, BARNES GREEN & BURLEYHURST LANE
Quoting from 'Lindow and the Bog Warriors' published in 2002 and written by Matthew Hyde and Christine Pemberton, The Croft on Newton Hall Lane has been in the Davies family for several generations and included Croft Garage, latterly run by Denis Newton, Croft Caravan site, Rose Cottage, Graveyard Lane and Graveyard Farm. The original tenants of the Croft were Cyril Richardson and his wife, who started all the enterprises. In 2005 a planning application for the removal of existing homes and the erection of 11 thee-storey dwellings and 10 appartments was refused but in 2012 an application for nine more park homes (reduced by the planners to 7) was accepted (planning ref 13/3684M)
