Jessie Barrow was born in 1876. The Barrows in Mobberley by 1911 were mainly descended from John and Elixabeth who were in Dam Head Lane in 1841. Their son James who was born around 1816 became a master shoemaker . His son John born around 1850 married Alice Simpson in 1875. John was a carpenter and beer seller who had the Farmers Arms in 1881 and 1891 but who later concentrated on building, including the house called Brookdale in Burleyhurst Lane where the family were living in 1911 and Westwood in Newton Hall Lane which they built for their daughter. John and Alice had two daughters Jessie Ann and Annie. Jessie Ann married John Goulding in 1904 and their  grandaughter Jean Norbury is living in Mobberley today.

In 1911 Blakeley Cottage in Blakely Lane was occupied by Thomas and Ada Barrow. Thomas was the son of John and Ann. John was the brother of James (above)
